Persona 4 Arena

The Persona 4 series is back! This time not in it's usual RPG style, but in a fighter style. ATLUS have teamed up with Arc System Works to bring you Persona 4 Arena. But will being a fighter give the series the upper hand?

The story is set two months after Persona 4 with the investigation team returning as well as some Persona 3 characters. The team hears about the P-1 Grand Prix in the midnight channel and are forced to fight each other in order to progress and find the host. The soundtrack is still the same, which is awesome, but there are new songs to the game which are also great. In terms of gameplay, you'll mainly use a couple of buttons.Characters will use their own attacks as well as their persona's.Some attacks can also cause status elements like poison which can be used to your advantage. There are also an SP gauge and the Burst gauge which will give you the upper hand in fighting.Visually the game looks awesome, there are huge amounts of detail in the back grounds and in the character models. It gives you the feel like it's a classic arcade game like Street Fighter. What you will find great about Arena is it's replay value. With trophies/Achievements like "Complete  arcade mode with all characters" should keep you busy for a while. The game is packed with online mode which means you will be able to compete with players all over the world. However, there was some lagging, but not the kind that it will take you out of the experience.

ATLUS and Arc System Works's Persona 4 Arena is one of 2012's best fighters. It's great fighting mechanics, visuals, story , and replay value should keep you occupied for a while.
