Persona 4 Golden Review

Reach Out To The Truth.
2008's PlayStation 2 hit, Shin Megami TenseiPersona 4 was one of the best and memorable Japanese Role Playing Games (JRPG) I've played. Due to the game's success, many merchandise, and even an anime series were even made. However, with Persona 4 Golden and the PlayStation Vita, developer Atlus have opened up a variety of new possibilities in this edition of Persona 4.

STORY- The story follows a silent 17-year-old protagonist as he moves to a quiet town in japan named Inaba with his uncle and cousin due to his parents being occupied by work. However, things don't turn out so well when dead bodies appear without clues or traces and it may be connected to the midnight channel everyone is talking about. Later, the protagonist teams up with his fellow high school students to put an end to the murders and uncover the mysteries of The Midnight Channel. The game takes plays over the course of a Japanese school year, outside of key events you can attend school, interact with other characters, apply for part time jobs and more. After school, you can also enter the TV World, which is another reality where you can explore through multiple dungeons, in other words this is where gameplay comes in.

GAMEPLAY- Persona 4 plays like most role-playing games, in which you control your party members to navigate through dungeons and defeat enemies known as Shadows. You'll mainly be exploring floors upon floors to advance to the boss, which are more powerful shadows. When you're fighting enemies, you will have the option of summoning your own persona, each with their own abilities features, thus aiding you while exploring dungeons. As you level up, your persona will grow stronger and learn more powerful skills. The Velvet Room, a mysterious place run by a man with long nose, Egor, let's you fuse your current personas to make stronger ones, a feature that definitely adds many hours of playing. Also, you form Social Links by spending time with people which will grant you bonuses such as bonus XP for newly fused personas that share the same arcana of that person.

PRESENTATION- Persona 4 Golden is booming with content. The soundtrack by Shoji Meguro is fantastic , whether it's the creepy or the memorable tunes, it will sure entertain you when playing. Golden is an expanded version of the original with new additions and features. A new character Marie, have been added to the storyline and additional personas, outfits, and cutscenes are included. Golden makes use of the PS Vita's wireless networking features to aid you in combat.

OVERALL- Persona 4 was outstanding and is one of my favorite games of all-time. Golden improves over the original with loads of new content. The characters are awesome to hang around with, the soundtrack is simply outstanding, the story is engaging, and the gameplay is great. Golden is by far the best, stylish, and one of the few best games on the Vita.

OUTSTANDING
