Strider

Strider, originally released in 1989, was one of Capcom's lesser known franchises. However, Strider  receives a glorious and full of action reboot. Is Strider's return worth the $15 price?

Story- The Strider organization sends their best and youngest assassin, Strider Hiryu, on a mission to kill Grand master Meio, in order to restore freedom. However, story isn't the main focus of Strider, it's the gameplay.

Gameplay- Strider  controls fluidly, as well as it's core gameplay. Combat is fast-paced and fluid. There are different types of enemies, adding variety to the gameplay. Throughout the game, you'll encounter many boss fights that will require some skill and make use of every upgrade you received so far. Also, the game encourages exploration for hidden health packs and concept art. While the concept art won't do much, health packs are necessary for future boss encounters.Overall, Strider stays to its roots, while introducing some new gameplay elements.

Visuals & Sound- Strider  looks and sounds great.Character models look great and distinct, backgrounds are detailed and clean, the city of Kazakh is vibrant, but can be a bit repetitive, still Strider is a good looking game.In terms of sound, the music is good, with some memorable tunes from the original game.Voice work is great, with characters having personality and shines. However, when navigating the city, you'll hear a lot of the same dialogue often, which can be an annoyance.

OverallStrider  is a great reboot of the original. It offers the series a modern feel and gameplay is fast and rewarding. For $15, there is a lot of content and play-value to be enjoyed.
