Nintendo EAD Tokyo, the developer behind Super Mario 3D Land and the Super Mario Galaxy games, make their debut on the Nintendo Wii U with Super Mario 3D World.Will 3D World be just as good as the Galaxy games or just another "new" Super Mario Bros.?
The plot follows Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad as they explore the Sprixe Kingdom and save it from Bowser.Mario games aren't really heavy on plot like Metal Gear , but the game play is what matters after all right? Super Mario 3D World plays similarly like it's 3DS predecessor, Super Mario 3D Land, but with more added freedom and secrets to explore.Most interesting, Princess Peach is a playable character( finally), though she was playable in early Mario games.Furthermore, each character has their own abilities.Mario is the most balanced, Luigi can jump to higher areas, Toad can run at a faster speed, and finally, Peach can float in the air.The real star of 3D World is the stages and the amount of creativity that went into making them.Each stage is different than the last and requires specific characters to find the green stars and the stamps, which can be used when sending messages using Miiverse. Also, can you find The Legend of Zelda Easter egg? However, playing with friends or family using the Wii mote or classic controller brings out the most of Super Mario 3D World.The most notable power up is the cat suit, which allows you to run faster and climb up walls to reach new areas.Also, the double cherries power up allows for multiple copies of yourself for more effective attacks.Finally, the cannon boxes can let you shoot at enemies, the light box, which makes dealing with boos a breeze and the goomba mask allows you to blend in with enemies.There is plenty of content to keep you playing even if you finish the main story.If you beat the main game or have a New Super Luigi U save data, you can unlock a Luigi themed version of Mario Bros., Captain Toad from the Mario Galaxy games returns and you must guide him in a series of puzzles to obtain more green stars.in addition, there is the star world, which is more challenging than the normal levels and Rosalina, from the Galaxy games, is a secret unlockable character can be unlocked in earlier levels of the star world.Saving the best for last is the game's soundtrack.Super Mario 3D World is full of memorable tracks, thanks to the professional team of musicians, including Koji Kondo, The legend of Zelda's music composer.
