Watch Dogs

The year's most anticipated game, Watch Dogs, is here.Promising new gameplay elements and next-gen visuals, is it worth the short delay?

StoryWatch Dogs is set in Chicago and follows Aiden Pearce, a pro hacker, seeking revenge after the incident that lead to his nice's death.Throughout the game, you'll explore a bit of Aiden's past and his motives.

Gameplay- Hacking is the main focus of Watch Dogs. Aiden can hack into the central operating system (ctos), which gives information on any civilian in the city, as well as any crimes that are about to happen.Cars, trains, traffic lights, and more can be hacked, which offers tactical advantages in combat. The game's combat encourages stealth and the use of the hacking ability. Aiden can hack into nearby objects to create diversions or distractions and can use stealth to sneak by enemies, overall making the combat more strategic. The city of Chicago is freely roam-able from the beginning.Cars, bikes, and trains can be used as means of transport. However, the driving mechanic of the game is pretty bad.Cars especially handle sluggish, making uncomfortable to drive and steer.Throughout the game, Aiden's skill can be improved by completing side missions and other activities.

Visuals & Sound- Visually, Watch Dogs may not entirely look like the E3 2012 presentation. It feels a bit downgraded, which doesn't entirely hurts the game, but noticeable.Still, Watch Dogs offers some solid visuals.Furthermore, voice acting for the game is good.Though some characters feel bland themselves.

Overall- Watch Dogs is solid game that could use some improvement in it's drivving mechanics and more polish in visuals.Despite it's issues, Watch Dogs's hacking mechanic entertains and is helpful in combat, not to mention how vast the city of Chicago is.

PRETTY GOOD
