Velocity 2X Review

Developer FuturLabs' Velocity was amazing.
It was full of great levels, power-ups, and challenges. The sequel, Velocity 2X, has all the features that made the original great, but with a few tricks up it's sleeve. Will Velocity 2X be one of the year's best games?

Gameplay- Following the events of Velocity, Lieutenant Kai Tana is back; faster, sharper, and more skillful.Using her super spaceship, she'll be rescuing prisoners, picking up more powerful upgrades, obliterating enemies, and more.

Kai is looking great.

Unlike it's predecessor, 2X features platforming elements.Rather than spending time on her spaceship, Kai can engage enemies on-foot using her blaster, which is fast and a change of pace.Velocity 2X is mainly focused on how fast can you finish a level.

Level design starts out simple at first, but challenging and complex as you advance in the game. The faster you finish a level, the higher the score and rewards you get, adding replay-value.Velocity 2X is so fast, it's even faster than a Sonic game. Also, there are hidden extras, such as info. about the plot, bonus levels, and some mini-games.All which are minor, but worth checking.

Velocity 2X is responsive, fast-paced
and full of variety.

Visuals & Sound- Velocity 2X's art-style is really smooth. It's futuristic style really gives the game personality and a great atmosphere. The soundtrack has some great electronic beats, which fits the action and the style, but tends to be repetitive. All in all, the visuals and sound are impressing.

The visuals and soundtrack are great
and fits the game well.

Overall- Over 50 levels, great challenges, and fluid gameplay, Velocity 2X is one of the year's best indie games. The fast nature of the game requires precision and will keep you on edge. It's certainly a must-play.

EXCELLENT
