 The 6th generation of video games introduced us to lots of amazing games, such as Halo, Devil May Cry, Ratchet & Clank, and more.Also, many games of the 6th gen. had a major impact on the gaming industry, games such as GTA III have raised many controversies while others such as Resident Evil 4 have refined it's series into something new.Nevertheless, the 6th generation of video games presented us with many great games, here are ours.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening- After the disappointment of Devil May Cry 2, many fans were left skeptical of where the series was heading.However, DMC 3 proved to be an amazing return to the series.Starring a younger Dante and serving as a prequel, DMC 3 was regarded as 2005's best hack-and-slash game due to it's stylish combat and unforgiving difficulty.

Super Smash Bros. Melee- The second installment in Nintendo's iconic fighting series, Super Smash Bros. Melee, was among the best fighters of the 6th gen., not only it refined the series, but proved that the GameCube can have great visuals and games.The most notable aspect is how fun and addictive it is, having featured in many tournaments around the world, Melee was a hit with the fans and the fighting genre.

Grand Theft Auto III- GTA III was a groundbreaking game for it's time.Not only it popularized the Sandbox genre by making the game world feel alive and dynamic, but made Rockstar Games one of the best game developers of all time.However, with all the fame, the GTA series has always been a subject of multiple controversies against violence

Metroid Prime- After skipping the Nintendo 64, the Metroid series makes a grand and unusual return for Nintendo's GameCube with Metroid Prime.Austin developer Retro Games have collaborated with Nintendo to create the game, What was the outcome? Something outstanding.Samus Aran most anticipated debut for the GC was both atmospheric and something new.
  
  Metroid Prime had an amazing atmosphere thanks to first-person perspective, levels are detailed and are immersing.Prime received a high positive acclaim, spanned two sequels, a pinball spin-off, a DS game which follows the story arc, and came to the Wii in the form of Metroid Prime Trilogy

Half-Life 2- The original Half-Life was regarded as the best PC game ever made.However, it was not until developer Valve released the sequel, Half-Life 2, which took the title of both, best PC and Valve game.Half-Life 2 improved upon the original thanks to the Source engine, which featured great physics, A.I, and visuals.Gordon Freeman is silent as always but he is set on getting the job done, no questions (literally).

Halo: Combat Evolved- Halo: Combat Evolved was the best reason to own Microsoft's Xbox.Not only it was the fastest selling game of it's generation, but what kept the Xbox brand at the top.Halo's single-player was engaging and Master Chief is a quiet and bad-ass character.Gameplay was one of the game's strengths.The enemy A.I was smart and challenging, the variety of weapons was amazing, and the soundtrack was outstanding.

Resident Evil 4- Resident Evil 4 have had a major impact on the Resident Evil series and many games to follow in terms of gameplay. Resident Evil 2's Leon S. Kennedy is back for a more action-packed adventure, while still keeping the horror elements.The over-the-shoulder aiming was innovative and have been used in many games.The story was enjoyable and the gameplay stays true to it's roots, while changing things a bit.RE4 redefined the series with later games desperately try to reach the success it created.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater- Both MGS2 and MGS3 refined the stealth genre by introducing many unique mechanics which allowed the ability to further interacts with the environments.However, MGS3 which serves as a prequel to the entire series, stood out the most in terms of story, characters, visuals, and gameplay.Naked Snake (later known as Big Boss) is a compelling and interesting character, as well as his mentor The Boss.MGS3 is the most cinematic and emotional of the series.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was one of the best titles to grace the GameCube.Initially, many fans complained about the cel-shaded visuals, however they turned to be vividly timeless.In terms of gameplay, sailing was a bit tedious, though the game played fluidly.Many fans regarded Wind Waker as the best game in the series and on the GameCube, they weren't wrong.

Shadow of the Colossus- Team Ico's Shadow of the Colossus was an amazing experience in 6th generation.The protagonist, Wander, must journey to defeat sixteen massive creatures called the collossi is interesting and emotional.Most notably are the massive colossi boss battles, seriously they require careful planning and strategy, though you feel that sense of accomplishment once you defeat
them.Many consider Shadow of the Colossus an example of art, which is true thanks to it's massive and artistic landscapes.Shadow of the Colossus is easily the best 6th gen. title and a must-play for those who are seeking for a dynamic adventure game, though it may not appeal for everyone.
