Top 10 PS3 Games

Fun Times.

The seventh generation of consoles was a huge leap for gaming mainly due to the cutting edge technology of HD at the time. Over the years we had some great games such BioShock and Uncharted 2 that are now considered classics. To celebrate the occasion, I've made my own list of favorite PS3 games and why I love them.

#1- BioShock

Simply put, BioShock is my favorite game of the seventh generation. It was a memorable ride from start to finish. The dark, mysterious city of Rapture was interesting to explore, the enemies, especially the Big Daddies, were a challenge since you had limited supplies. Not only that, but the story and characters kept me engaged throughout. While it shows its age today, I still recommended to those looking for a survival-horror feel and neat premise.

#2 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

One of the earliest games I've played on the PS3 and is one of my favorite. It was full of great moments and is one of the few games that I completed many times over a period of months. The gameplay was fun, the story was engaging, and the presentation holds up amazingly well today.

#3 Vanquish

As a lover of faced-paced action games and Platinum Games in general, Vanquish had to be on my list. While the writing left a lot to be desired, it was the high-octane gameplay and soundtrack that kept thrilled throughout the seven to eight hour journey.

#4- Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Drake's last outing on the PS3 was a great one, packing many amazing moments and environments. The gameplay was fun as always and the narrative didn't disappoint.

#5- Deus Ex: Human Revolution

The Deus Ex series made its long-awaited return in 2011, with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Serving as a prequel to prior games, we follow Sarif Industries security chief, Adem Jensen, who hunts down the terrorists responsible for attacking the company. The narrative was engaging and so was the combat, which was open-ended, meaning you have more than one way of completing your objectives. While it shows its age a bit, the presentation is still some of the best to come out last generation.

#6-  The Last Of Us

Naughty Dog's final outing on the PS3 was a memorable and thrilling one. Joel and Ellie's story as they travel a decayed America is interesting, the gameplay was engaging, and the overall presentation was some of the best to come out of the system.

#7 Dead Space

Issac Clarke's terrible adventure on the USG Ishimura was a scary and memorable one. Neat gameplay, creepy, atmosphere, and unexpected plot-twists made it a really interesting ride.

8- Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Asylum was one of the Caped Crusader's most successful leaps to gaming. Two years later, developer Rocksteady releases Arkham City, the sequel which improved over everything in Asylum. A big city to explore that's filled with more side-quests, enemies, and Riddler challenges. The story and the engaging performances were outstanding as well.

9-  Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising 2 fixed many issues of Dead Rising such as the stiff shooting and crappy A.I. It ups the ante with over 72,000 zombies to kill with more weapons than before. Combine that with an interesting writing and colorful characters and it's a fun ride.

10- The King of Fighters XIII

The King of Fighters XIII improved and fixed many issues of The King of Fighters XII. Fan-favorite characters such as K', Mai, and Vice make their re-appearance. Not only that, developer SNK stated that the fighting mechanics have been refined according to fan feedback. As well as the network functionality, which was lag-free when I played it. As a fan of the series, XIII is by far my favorite.
