Thoughts on Square Enix's Left Alive

A Hideo Koji-oh!

Square Enix, the giant company behind the endearing Final Fantasy franchise has recently announced a new IP at the recent Tokyo Game Show called "Left Alive". Metal Gear artist Yoji Shinkawa, who achived fame for his notable work on the Metal Gear and Zone of the Enders series' is working with Square Enix on recently unveiled project. It's billed as a "brand-new survival action shooter" with mechs playing a major role in the gameplay. Staff include the likes of Armored Core Series director Toshifumi Nabeshima, mech designer Takayuki Yanase (Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Ghost in the Shell: Arise, and Xenoblade Chronicles X) also plays a role in the design of the game. Previously mentioned, Shinkawa's bringing his signature artwork to Square's latest title. Left Alive looks promising and since it's been a rather long time since we've had a mech game, it holds much promise considering the high-profile staff behind it. Aside from a teaser trailer and some artwork, much of Left Alive still remains a mystery though over the coming months Square would've shared details regarding the game.
