The Walking Dead: Season Two Review

Telltale Games' first season in The Walking Dead game series was fantastically brutal. It presented us with a grim world and people desperately accepting it.Season Two continues the events of the first season with the protagonist Clementine surviving the pandemic.Does the second season prove to be just as great as the first?

Story- Picking up after the events of the first season, Clementine is now alone, in the deceased world.Throughout the five episodes, we see Clementine matures to an entirely different person; only making more difficult choices this time.

Speaking of choices, the choice system in Season Two is thin. Some dialogue choices doesn't impact the situations Clementine faces later in the episodes, detracting from the experience. However, the choice system is still powerful, making you make choices that impact your fellow survivors and Clementine herself.

Clementine is back, alone in the
Walker infested world.
The Walking Dead: Season Two is just as disturbing and intense as Season One.Clementine is always in imminent danger, especially around Walkers and other survivors. Her greatest choices will heavily impact her and those around her.

Gameplay- Like most of Telltale's games, Season Two is a point-and-click adventure game. There are some action sequences that will require quick responses to QTEs, in most instances, failing to meet them will result in a game over. Also, you'll be exploring areas for objects that can be used for later and opens up the game.Combat has been refined, though with some technical issues.

Combat requires you to
 be vigilant and on-edge.

Visuals & Sound- Season Two has the same comic-book visual style the first season was going for, and it's still great.Character models and environments are detailed and well-done, especially the last episode. The voice work is excellent.Characters are voiced and performed well, adding more depth to the story and making you care about these people. Also, the soundtrack by Jared Emerson-Johnson is great and moody, fitting the series perfectly.

Season Two starts and ends
dramatically and brutally
.

The Walking Dead: Season Two is brutally fantastic.Although the choice system is sometimes shallow, Clementine shows a lot of development around her new family and the action sequences are greatly done. It's not to be missed.

EXCELLENT
